Publicity Blurb: Mockery is the sincerest form of flattery - and we really love theatre!
Proposal Blurb: "Slackers" is what it says on the tin: a guide to the history of Western Theatre from the Greeks to contemporary playwrights. We follow five drama history students whilst they study hard for their exams. There is one small twist however: the cast narrate the whole history of drama through the medium of mockery, parody and spoof. What follows is a journey from Aeschylus to Shakespeare, from Chekov to Pinter; we visit every form of theatre imaginable, and then take the piss out of it.
With a foldable set and a menagerie of props and costumes, this show will look spectacular and offer a variety of ways for people to get involved. Appealing to theatre know-it-alls, geeks and experts as well as folks simply looking for a laugh, "Slackers" is the ideal fringe show for Bedlam.
