Publicity Blurb: A cool seductress and a vengeful failure conspire with the audience to bring down a beloved character actor in this slick, cynical, funny and bittersweet drama about hypocrisy and excruciating honesty.
Proposal Blurb: "Wild Allegations" by David K. Barnes and David Leon is a new, fast-paced, deeply cynical drama with lashings of dry, bitter humour, and a dynamic variety of locations achieved via a constantly changing set, with narrators so unreliable they can't even keep control of their own narratives.
Matthew is the rising star of the West End – the eccentric leading man, and already tired of it. He moans about his success to cool seductress Theo – who thinks he’s a hypocrite. He’s stolen his stage persona from frustrated failure Alex – who thinks he’s a bastard. They’re going to bring him down, and they’re going to tell you how.
As Theo and Alex tell you their parallel but conflicting tales, their early confidence gives way to anxiety, panic and tears before bedtime as their schemes crash down around them and they're forced to confront themselves - and you, their audience and co-conspirators.
"Wild Allegations" is slick, darkly funny and excruciatingly honest about the little lies we tell to ourselves and others, with a lot of scope for fun stage, prop and tech work, enabling a large number of people to work alongside our experienced team throughout the course of this production.
