Proposal Blurb: The Phantom of the Panto hopes to inject some energy and grandeur into the Bedlam pantomime tradition, with a script to be written somewhat in advance of the dress run, actors who will know what they're doing before the closing night and a set that will have been designed and built before the year is out. There will be musical numbers, lots of fun character deaths, a tenuous mystery element and custard pies. In all seriousness, we firmly intend this Bedlam Panto to be less ramshackle than previous years and as much of the show is being planned out and written before final casting as possible to ensure the maximum amount of time being given to rehearsals. We have big ideas for stage and tech and we'd like to make this show a little bit spectacular if we can. We're going to pull out as many stops as possible and make this not just a good Bedlam Panto but a good show in its own right that both members and public will enjoy.
